Shabanu: Daughter of the Wind

Summary
Shabanu lives in Cholistan Desert in Pakistan. She is the second daughter of a loving family of camel breeders. Her older sister Phulan will be married to Hamir, a cousin of their family’s. Shabanu is going to soon marry Hamir’s brother, Murad. Shabanu is only 12 and is not interested in marriage ; she enjoys tending to the animals and especially teaching tricks to her beloved camels. Before Phulan’s wedding, however, disaster strikes: Shabanu and Phulan accidentally stumble upon several strange men in the desert, among them an old, wicked landowner named Nazir who wants to give Phulan as a wife to of his friends. Phulan refuses so Nazir murders her soon-to-be-husband, Hamir. Phulan has no choice but to marry Hamir’s brother, Murad, instead. When Shabanu learns that she must marry Nazir’s brother, Rahim, an old man who already has three wives. Shubanu runs away but her camel breaks his leg. Shabanu accepts to marrying Rahim.

I liked the book because the main character, Shabanu, is cleaver.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? 
I would recommend this book to my friends because the main character is very cleaver and also tries to get what she wants.

What was your favorite part of the book?
My favorite part of this book was when Shabanu taught her camel how to dance. It was my favorite part because the camel kept dancing again and again even when Shabanu’s Father said to stop.

Main Character Description:
One of the main characters in this book is Shabanu. She clever and knows how take care of camels. She does’t want to get married.
